MISSIONARIES WE SUPPORT
Mary Beth Bagley was born and raised in southern Africa as a missionary kid (MK). In high school, God ignited a deep passion in her heart to use her experiences to minister to other MKs.
Mary Beth was born and raised in southern Africa as a mission-ary kid (MK). In high school, God ignited a deep passion in her heart to use her experiences to minister to other MKs. After serving on several short-term mission trips and as a teacher to MKs in Central Asia for two and a half years, Mary Beth’s pas-sion for MK care has only continued to grow as the need has be-come increasingly apparent. Now, as she steps into a new role as Global Partners MK Wellness Specialist, her greatest desire is to empower MKs to embrace their Kingdom identity.
After a short trip to Cambodia, Andrew and Lexi fell in love with the beautiful country. They felt like they had found their new home. After time of discerning and praying, they followed the Lord’s leading and surrendered to his will. A song that they live by says, “I will build my life upon Your love, it is a firm foundation."
Their desire is to build their lives upon God and express his love with those around them. Andrew and Lexi long to share the good news with the people in Cambodia and to see “no dark places” remaining there.
Greg grew up hearing stories of missionaries serving around the world. As a Wesleyan pastor’s kid he often enjoyed meals and times of fellowship with them at the family table. Their stories inspired and challenged him. By the time he was 15, Greg had traveled on multiple short-term mission trips with his family and his love for missions kept growing. Only God knew in those early years that Greg would be one of those missionaries who serves and inspires a new generation. Greg has served for 10 years with Global Partners and currently oversees the missionaries and the work in Haiti, Suriname, and Guyana. His mission is to empower National leaders and mobilize believers by putting them in places where their worldview is forever changed.
Daniel has been serving in Haiti as a Global Partner Missionary since 2018 but has been a part of the work in Haiti since 2009. With all the turmoil, political unrest, kidnappings, and gang violence over the last 3 and half years the Stanleys are now stationed in South Carolina and Daniel takes multiple trips to Haiti throughout the year to fulfill his responsibilities.
His duties include managing the Ortlip Guesthouse and Ministry Center in Montrouis, Haiti that host multiple events for the National Church and several overnight guest of in country missionaries from other organizations. He also provides financial oversight for the mission station on La Gonave, Haiti. When Daniel is not in Haiti, he is in daily contact with mission staff via email, WhatsApp, or phone calls to assist with the management of the stations.
I hold tight to this passage from Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
The Van Steenburg family served in Central America for 7 years. During that season of ministry their focused ministry was to amplify leaders. In the fall of 2022, Barry and Christy accepted a stateside appointment within the Mobilization Department.
As seasons have changed, Christy continues to serve as the Regional Mobilizer in the Southeast Region. Christy is passionate about the opportunity to journey alongside individual people and churches who are discerning the role they have to play in reaching the 4 in 10 people who live without access to the Gospel. Through a no pressure process of prayer, coaching relationships, and discernment, she is excited to see a new generation of people raised up to know their specific role in helping to reach the 4 in 10. Christy believes and trusts Jesus to multiply her 1 family, serving in 1 part of the world, into dozens upon dozens of families serving Jesus in that many different places around the world.
Geoff and Carrie Jo (Kinde) Cain have been ministering in Makeni, Sierra Leone, since 2015. Carrie Jo, a registered nurse, has worked with World Hope International - Sierra Leone on several health projects. These include the Ebola response, working with Ebola survivors, Helping Babies Breath, Child Health and Mortality Prevention and Surveillance (CHAMPS), and the Covid-19 response. This brings opportunities to work and connect with many different groups, and through these relationships, God opens doors to share Jesus.
Geoff volunteers on several projects with World Hope International, including medication distribution and visiting team coordination. He also assists and advises Carrie Jo on a variety of tasks. Most importantly, he monitors Rebecca's (’06) home-school education.
Please continue to pray for all of our missionaries throughout the world. We ask that you especially pray for the missionaries that we support whose names and photos are withheld for security purposes.
PRAYER FOR MISSIONARIES
Choose a missionary for the month.
Ways to Pray as an Adult
-
Each day pray for that missionary’s financial needs for that month. That they would meet their goals and that should immediate needs arise that the Lord would help them lean into him to provide the provisions they need.
-
Each day pray for the safety of the missionary and their families. That each door they enter, each vehicle they ride in, each plane they go on, each step that they take they will feel safe and secure in the knowledge that God is beside them.
-
Each day pray for the gospel message the missionary is sharing in the world. God’s word does not return void. Pray that the people will have ears to hear and eyes to see the goodness of our God.
-
Each day pray for the mental and physical health of the missionary and their family. Living in high stress situations, away from family, and away from the culture they grew up in can take a toll. Healthcare in other countries may not be as accessible or as quality as they are used to as well.
Ways to Pray as an Child
-
Talk to your child about the missionary that your family has chosen to pray for for the month. Let them know if possible where they are serving. Look up on google maps where this place is and see how far it is from home. Talk about the daily expenses that you as a family have and then talk about what daily expenses they think a missionary may have. Pray over those expenses.
-
Talk to your child about the different places missionaries may visit to tell people about Jesus. Talk about the different people that missionaries may encounter while they travel. Pray over these things with your child.
-
Talk to your child about the gospel message we are all asked to share. Read with them Matthew 28:18-20 and Acts 1:8. Pray for the people to hear the gospel message and will be open to hearing about Jesus.
-
Talk to your child about how being a missionary can be scary at times but we have to put our faith in Jesus and know that he will guide and protect us. Pray for the missionaries to trust in Jesus and to be healthy while they serve. Pray for healing for those who may need it.
